BASIC TIPS TO LEARN TO DRIVE

Learn to adapt to the car, step on clutch, brake, throttle with the car off. Do it without looking, until the movement of feet on the pedals is perfectly mastered DOT Audit.

Put on your seat belt ALWAYS. This is for the driver and for all passengers.
When sitting, adjust the distance of the driver's seat, adjusting the distance to the steering wheel and the vertical reclining or turning it according to your comfort. Always use both hands to take the wheel.
Adjust the position of the rearview mirror and the exterior mirror according to its height to see as wide as possible without having to turn the head.

Check that the parking brake is not activated before moving the vehicle.
The gearshift should be in the Neutral position, otherwise when the car is started, it will shake slightly and can generate sudden movement. When this happens, the engine automatically shuts down and you must return the change to neutral and then restart it by turning the ignition key.

To place the key and contact the car, do it gently without forcing the entry. When you put the car in contact you can unlock the steering wheel in case it has been previously locked just by turning it while the car is in contact (by gently turning the key the first turn is "contact", then it is still on the engine. Once you have verified that the change is in Neutral, only then can you start the engine.

Tips to start the car and not succumb in the attempt:

  1. Depress the car clutch (see image where it indicates location), and without releasing it, put the gear lever in First.
  2. Then slowly start stepping on the accelerator at the same time that in a coordinated way begins to release the clutch. At the beginning it is normal for the car to shake and even turn off and have to turn it on again.
  3. An important tip to keep in mind is, the clutch must not be released at once and in fact it is the car can start even if you have not finished releasing the entire clutch. Therefore, it is not necessary to press on the accelerator too much, but to get used to releasing the clutch slowly and evenly. This is achieved with practice, like all new learning.
  4. Once on the move, always hold the steering wheel with both hands, always look forward, do not talk on a cell phone while driving, do not smoke or eat because if a maneuver is necessary it is important to have both hands available.
